Yamamoto walked Gleyber Torres to open the contest, and Torres advanced to second on a groundout by Juan Soto to short. Aaron Judge worked a 3-2 count against Yamamoto before he he was able to get Judge to strikeout on a slider just below his knees slots empire.
That’s just the second time in World Series history that the Dodgers have gone back-to-back. Pedro Guerrero and Steve Yeager did it against Ron Guidry in the seventh inning of Game 5 during the 1981 World Series, also against the Yankees.
